I’m Annie Page, the artist behind Penny Pickles. I am a mother to three awesome kids and married to my much better half. I have been blessed to stay home, but if you know me I’m not a bon bons and wine type of girl and keep very, very busy. I have always done little creative things around my own home, but I started to paint as a way to escape while caring not only for my family, but for my mother as well. I embarked on this journey shortly before my mother’s passing. My mother was a such a creative soul and was one of my biggest cheerleaders, there is so much that I learned from her. After mom passed I made the decision to create a website that highlighted some of that work. I was amazed at the response and quickly became quite busy with custom work. What amazed me most was that a lot of my clients weren’t even people I knew. Which I am still floored by.
Where does the name Penny Pickles come from? My son, Drew, came up with the name when he was playing with his baby sister Penny. I thought it had a ring to it and it seemed fitting, so Penny Pickles was born! Please take a few moments to enjoy my site, my art and have fun!
What’s with the blogging? I mocked blogging I did, I am a big enough person to say that I no longer mock, but embrace and certainly enjoy. I started to blog about my work and of course my personal life crept in and I fell in love with sharing my life and my work with my friends, family and strangers alike. Of course once I talk to someone, we’re not really strangers anymore (I get that from mom).
Just a little something I have in my kitchen that I look at everyday, it just keeps you going, you know?
Success:
To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. this is to have succeeded.
